Sancerre to Les Montils

This morning we left our France Passion and drove uphill to Sancerre where we fortunately, found parking easy - not always easy, especially with 2 motorhomes.  Then walked the rest of the way up through little narrow street to the main square.  We had been here in 2014, but needed to read our blog of that trip to remember much about it!  However, I did recognise where we had lunch that time!  We began looking for the first stages of a multi geocache, stopped for morning coffee, then continued to explore the town.

Lunch was just to the right of this picture.

The wisteria at the back of this building was planted in 1904 - smelt beautiful as we passed.

The Loire in the distance from one of the viewpoints.

Acres of vines on the hillsides.
We left Sancerre around 2pm to drive to our next destination, Les Montils - again close to the River Loire but 100 miles further north-west.  We are staying 2 nights at a Camping-Car Park which is an old municipal campsite revitalised for motorhomes.  Not taken any photos yet, except for this one of a balloon that passed over us as we were finishing our evening meal.
